Course Overview

SelfHelpWorks courses are designed to deliver lasting cognitive and behavioral change. All courses contain a Structured Cognitive Behavioral Training™ component that is designed to break down disempowering beliefs and resulting emotions at the root of detrimental behavior patterns and replace them with empowering cognitive responses that elicit permanent behavior change without the use of willpower.  

‘Virtual’ in nature, SelfHelpWorks courses are delivered using an engaging interactive multimedia format that creates an effective, low-cost, live coaching experience. They generally consist of the following:

  • A series of 20-35 minute high-definition videos split into short segments that deliver simulated live instruction by an expert, with animated supporting graphics to maximize user engagement and learning;
  • Interactive quizzes that engage the user and enhance memory recall;
  • PersonalCoach™—powerful proprietary software that monitors ongoing questionnaire responses and customizes course content delivered to each participant based on their specific needs at that point in time;
  • Practical assignments to transform ‘classroom’ learning into real-world application;
  • Automated email reminders and weekly email tips
  • Additional support such as optional reading materials; the ability to email questions to coaches; and SelfHelpWorks’ weekly call-in support group, RealTalkRadio™.

Participants can access the courses 24/7 by simply going online when convenient, such as during lunch break at the office or in the privacy of their home.

 

LivingLean is a unique, scientifically-based online coaching course designed to end food cravings and unhealthy eating habits—permanently. Unlike typical weight management loss courses, LivingLean attacks the root of the problem by literally transforming the way participants think and feel about food and how they eat, using a step-by-step process known as Structured Cognitive Behavioral Training™. LivingLean consists of 14 online videos along with quizzes, useful exercises and other support tools and activities.  

During the LivingLean course, participants will:

  • Uncover the disempowering beliefs and resulting emotions that lead to detrimental eating behaviors
  • Start seeing and feeling differently about food, their health, and the possibilities that are available to them through living a healthy lifestyle
  • Discover the many ways their mind tricks them to keep them eating for comfort rather than health

LivingFree is a unique, scientifically-based online coaching course designed to eliminate cravings and end physical and emotional dependence on tobacco—permanently. Rather than trying to rely on willpower, LivingFree addresses the issue head-on, working to expose and transform the core beliefs and emotions that cause a person to smoke (or chew). Structured Cognitive Behavioral Training™ process. The course is designed to break down self-defeating beliefs and emotions that cause people to avoid exercise, replacing them with empowering beliefs and emotions that make regular exercise something to look forward to. Using online videos, support tools and a form of exercise that virtually anyone can engage in, LivingFit incorporates a 90-day walking program that is divided into three phases. Each phase consists of four weekly modules, each with a specific purpose in propelling participants towards a life of regular exercise they love.

During the LivingLean course, participants will:

  • Uncover the disempowering beliefs and resulting emotions that lead to inactivity and exercise avoidance
  • Learn about the 8 reasons to walk

  • Join the 5,000 Minute Club if they choose, allowing them to foster group motivation  by comparing their walking-minutes milestones with co-workers and friends

LivingWell is a unique, scientifically-based online course that teaches participants how to truly transform the way they think about and manage diabetes—not just physically but emotionally too. Taught by Registered Dietician & Certified Diabetes Educator, Janice Baker, its Structured Cognitive Behavioral Training™ format is designed to help master the three critical areas of successful diabetes management – emotional, physical, and educational.

LivingWell participants will receive personalized digital coaching through 9 online videos and quizzes along with weekly inspirational material, activity challenges, journaling, and progress tracking with weekly or daily emails to help remain in compliance with specific physician-directed treatment and lifestyle regimens. There are also over 100 educational audios and articles that we call the Daily D’s to help participants live the best life possible with diabetes.
