Course Overview

SelfHelpWorks interventions are curriculum-driven, just like an e-university course. Their interactive online video-based format and our PersonalCoach™ software work in harmony to deliver an engaging, user-friendly personalized coaching experience. Participants can log on privately and conveniently 24/7 using an Internet-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone.

All of the courses employ an evidence-based cognitive behavioral training process derived from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to create lasting behavioral change. The process is designed to break down the disempowering beliefs, thoughts and resulting emotions at the root of detrimental behavior patterns; and replace them with empowering cognitive responses that elicit permanent behavior change without the use of willpower. The courses generally consist of the following:

  • A series of 20-35 minute high-definition video sessions, each split into short segments that deliver simulated live instruction by an expert, with animated supporting graphics to maximize user engagement and learning;
  • Interactive quizzes that engage the user and enhance memory recall;

  • Additional support such as optional reading materials, downloadable support audios and the ability to email questions to a coach

LivingLean is a scientifically-based online cognitive behavioral training course designed to end food cravings and unhealthy eating habits - permanently. Unlike typical weight management loss courses, LivingLean attacks the root of the problem by breaking down false beliefs and literally transforming the way participants think and feel about food and how they eat. LivingLean consists of 14 online videos along with quizzes, useful exercises and other support tools and activities.

During the LivingLean course, participants will:

LivingFit is a science-based online cognitive behavioral training course designed to help sedentary people make exercise a regular - and enjoyable - part of their life. Unlike other exercise programs, LivingFit is designed to attack the root cause of the problem of inactivity. It breaks down self-defeating beliefs and emotions that cause people to avoid exercise, replacing them with empowering beliefs and emotions that make regular exercise something to look forward to. Using online videos, support tools and a form of exercise that virtually anyone can engage in, LivingFit incorporates a 12-week walking program that is divided into three phases.
