Frequently Asked Questions
How do the Selfhelpworks programs work?
They are cognitive-based learning programs that explore the causes of your behaviors and then train you how to permanently change them. The programs are delivered via the Internet as a series of engaging and entertaining lectures and interactive assignments.
How successful are the programs?
Our live programs have been given at major corporations throughout the U.S. for over 20 years. More than 75% of the participants succeed. The results from our website participants are demonstrating similar success rates.
How long does the course last?
Three to five weeks. During the first week you will visit the site almost daily. Thereafter, you will visit the site twice per week.
What do I have to do?
After enrolling in the program online, you'll view multimedia presentations accompanied by interactive quizzes - all via the internet. Most sessions require that you do an assignment and read additional site materials. Each session will take approximately an hour.
Do I have to stay on a schedule?
Yes. We know the schedule works. You will select your own start date. Thereafter you are asked to stay on schedule. We send emails to remind you of your next scheduled session.
Do I take it at home or work?
It is up to you. But no matter where you take the course, it is most effective if you find a quiet place free from distractions.
Do I need a high-speed Internet connection?
No. The programs deliver content without pause or delay even using a 28k modem.
What are the computer system requirements?
You will need a Windows PC with speakers, an Internet Explorer browser (AOL browsers are OK), a Windows Media Player, and a Flash Player. Windows Media and Flash are free downloads if you do not already have them.
What if I am having a problem running my course?
Check your computer by visiting our PC Test page. If you are using a pop-up blocker, disable it or allow pop-ups for our pages (selfhelpworks.com). Pop-ups are required to run the course. We do not support Netscape or Macs.
Is it important that I provide a working email address?
Yes. Emails are an integral part of our courses. If you do not receive an email after signing up, your ISP may think our emails are spam and may block them. In this case, contact your ISP and have them allow any emails with a selfhelpworks.com address.
