Which online courses are currently being delivered?

Living Free™, a smoking cessation program, Living Lean™, a weight and nutrition program, and LivingSmart™, an alcohol management program are currently offered from our site.

How do the Selfhelpworks programs work?

They are cognitive-based learning programs. They explore the causes of your behavior then provide training in how to permanently change it. They are delivered as a series of enagaging and entertaining lectures and assignments via the internet.

How successful are the programs?

How long does the course last?

Three to five weeks. During the first week you will visit the site almost daily. Thereafter you will visit the site twice per week.

What do I have to do?

After enrolling in the program online, you'll attend audio lectures accompanied by multimedia and interactive quizzes - all over the internet. Most sessions require that you do an assignment and read additional site materials. Each session will take approximately one hour.

Do I have to stick to a schedule?

Yes. We know the schedule works. You will select your own start date. Thereafter you are asked to stay on schedule. We send emails to remind you of your next scheduled session.

Do I take it at home or work?

It is up to you and your employer. But no matter where you take the course, it is most effective if you find a quiet place free from distractions.

Do I need a high-speed Internet connection?

No. The programs deliver content without pause or delay even using a 28k modem. Ninety percent of our users use a dial-up connection to take the course.

What are the computer system requirements?
