Regaining Personal Power: How to Regain Control of your Life Criterion 1 There are six criteria that are necessary to follow in order to make changes in your life. Before there is any hope of change it is important to be willing to follow these six criteria. Memorize and understand them.
#1. BE WILLING TO CHANGE
FOR YOURSELF Be willing to do it for yourself. It is impossible to change for someone else. Why? CHANGE results in you improving the quality of your life, in adding value to your life. This cannot be done for someone else because it has to do with self respect and self esteem; a desire for a better future. The more you do it for you, the less pressure you feel, and the more motivated you will be.
This is sometimes tricky. When I used to try to quit smoking or lose weight I would tell the world, make bets etc. By the time I got started, I forgot why I wanted to change. I would cheat, because they, the people I told - would "never find out". You see, I was doing it for them just by telling them. Our addicted mind has a goal of making ourselves the kid and every one else the adult.
