Program Overview

There's no question about the benefits of quitting smoking, but it's hard to stop without support. There's a good chance you've tried to quit before. However, when you thought about quitting you may have become uptight and anxious, and may have smoked even more.

Until recently, smoking has been one of the hardest lifestyles to change because it is such a complex dependency. From personal experience, I know that as a smoker it is difficult to imagine what it's like to live as a person who doesn't smoke. To a smoker, the thought of not smoking means giving up an old friend, being deprived of something really important. The truth is, a person who has never smoked doesn't miss it, and neither will you after the LivingFree™ Program. We teach a process that has been proven to work for all kinds of people and all types of smokers. It’s got a funny name, Structured Cognitive Training. SCT is a powerful process that will teach you how to permanently change the way you think and feel about cigarettes and smoking and quit almost instantly.


Philosophy

We believe that if a person can can change the way they think, they can change their lives in any way they desire. You will discover new ways of thinking about the process of quitting smoking; ways that are very different from any program you've tried before.

Most on-line programs have you take an intake survey and then “tailor" the program to you. Now really! How much can they really learn about you in an intake survey? How many kinds of people are there? How many ways are there to quit? Well anyway it sounds impressive, doesn’t it?

It would be like going to a tennis lesson and having the instructor ask you to fill out a survey so they can tailor a tennis lesson for you. Any good coach knows that there is a right way and a wrong way. A good coach will teach you the right way, have you hit the ball, and then coach you until the right way becomes natural.

That’s how this program works.

In this program you will discover and understand the many ways your mind tricks you and affects you emotionally and physically to keep you smoking. In a few short days you'll learn how to master your mind and change your emotional relationship with cigarettes, actually turning quitting into a positive experience. You'll learn how to eliminate the psychological blocks and how to draw from your own natural abilities in order to counter the blocks easily. In just a few short days, you will learn to stop smoking:

    • with pride and dignity (no tricks or gimmicks)
    • without gaining weight
    • without feeling irritable, frustrated, or anxious
    • without feeling deprived and missing your cigarettes

You'll learn how to deal effectively with stress, boredom, and other problems without cigarettes.

Expert-Led Training - Lifestyle Management Instructor Lou Ryan will be your trainer and coach throughout the program. There are four core sessions to the program during which he will teach you how to become an ex-smoker in just four days using a proven process that works for virtually all willing people and all kinds of smokers.

He will teach you some very enlightening concepts that when applied, will allow you to quit without feeling denied, deprived, or anxious. He will then teach you how to become “the master” and show you how to eliminate your desire to smoke FOREVER.

Personalized Feedback - Then he’ll coach you. Our sophisticated Personal Coaching Software will find out how you're “swinging the racquet” and give you personalized audio messages, onscreen advice, and e-mail guidance. All this in addition to six optional support sessions that anticipate your challenges.

Additional Coaching - You may e-mail in at any time for support from a certified instructor for a whole year if needed, or go to our online RealTalkRadio™ support groups.

Review - Review any of the motivating sessions at any time of day or night, download the support audio for your car, or take the course as many times as you like. We are always here to help you succeed.

Smokeless Tobacco - The program, which has the highest documented success rates in the country, is just as effective for smokeless tobacco as it is for cigarettes or cigars.


Program Schedule

LivingFree™ consists of 12 sessions over a period of 5 weeks. You will choose to quit, believe it or not, after Session 3. Our promise is: "enroll, follow our instructions, and bring all the cigarettes you want…because in three short weeks you won't care about them anymore."

Attending each of the first five sessions is important, as this is a step-by-step process where one day builds the foundation for the next. The first five sessions are on consecutive days. We purposely set it up this way in order to help you create momentum.  Here’s the way it works: You take the introduction and then choose a quit day. It can be as much as three months out.  You decide when you think you’re going to be ready. 

A typical schedule is as follows:

Each session lasts about 30 minutes and consists of a video or audio/visual seminar given by the instructor, Lou Ryan, and interactive quizzes.

All you need is your 28.8k modem and you can call toll free, instant message, or e-mail in. Archives are also available.

    • Personal Coach
      The LivingFree™ Program for Smokers will analyze your progress and give you personalized support in the form of audio coaching by your program instructor, immediate personalized advice, and e-mails.

    • A Place to Privately Journal
      Record your thoughts, feelings, and revelations confidentially into history.

" I smoked for 17 years. I had tried to quit for the first time 15 years ago and lasted 8 months. I have quit and started many other times (at least 10 in the last 3 years) as I always said I'd quit before I turned 30. I am now 32. I have lasted anywhere from 2 days to 6 weeks, but typically would go for about a week until I couldn't take it anymore. I have tried cold-turkey, nicotine gum, the nicotine patch, and Zyban.

Needless to say, I did not come into this program with much confidence. I now know why I was not successful on any of my past attempts and I can't imagine stopping smoking without this program. My best advice would be to let your urges come, acknowledge them, and choose. Have as many as you can because you only have 3 weeks to train yourself. And notice the positive moments, the benefits, and your freedom. And keep coming back even if you don't feel like it.

I wanted to share my story because I am the same as you. In fact, if you asked me 3 weeks ago I'd have said I'm worse than you. Trust me that I am one of those who thought they would never quit smoking, much less feel good about it. Sadly, my life revolved around cigarettes in many ways.
